The new 2020 release is just our third vintage from a small vineyard at Gee Street, Renwick, developed and planted organically from day one under BioGro NZ certification. We experienced a long hot and dry summer in Marlborough and the grapes were hand picked on the 23rd March 2020 with Covid19 lockdown almost upon us. The grapes were whole bunch pressed with minimal sulphur additions, cold settled then racked to five French oak barrels. 20% New oak. 100% fermented with indigenous yeasts. Post ferment, the barrels underwent lees stirring & malolactic fermentation over the winter months. Bottled early, fresh and vibrant on the 28th October 2020, this wine is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

“Offering fine value, the 2020 vintage (4.5*) is a very youthful, single-vineyard wine, grown at Renwick, hand-harvested and fermented in French oak casks (20 per cent new). Bright, light yellow/green, it is full-bodied, with fresh, concentrated, peachy, citrusy flavours, showing very good complexity, balanced acidity and a tightly structured finish. Best drinking 2023+. Certified organic….”

“Pure, fresh, ripe and inviting bouquet with sents of fresh red apple and nectarine, sweet citrus and a fine lees complexity followed by vanilla and a creamy yoghurt quality. Fresh, equally ripe and varietal with flavours that reflect the bouquet begining with citrus and pith then stone fruits and apple. Fine wood tannins with medium+ acidity with a youthful taut finish. This is a lovely example with cellar time available if you would like that. Best drinking from 2023 through 2030.”
